They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ... fighters" was a priority task in Syria for 2018. About a week later, Syrian regime forces with Russian and Iranian support launched an offensive on rebel-held Idlib province. Syrian state media claimed they were fighting al-Qaeda. |
