Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. A Yemeni military source said that the army had regained positions taken by the militia’s command center in the Muqabneh district west of Taiz, including Nubat al-Host and al-Aqhaf.

The source said in a statement to the armed forces’ official site "26 September" that 18 members of the Houthi militia had been killed, including a leader, while several others were maimed .

On the eastern front of Taiz, the Yemeni National Army managed to eliminate concentrations of Iranian-backed Houthi militia forces in the Luzom fortress and the Karifat area.
