| Raiders sent running back towards rebel lines after seasoned Syrian troops ambush them in west Suwayda |

| [ALMASDARNEWS] On Friday afternoon, rebel fighters attempted to raid Syrian forces positions near the government stronghold town of al-Qurrayah in the western countryside of As-Suwayda province. Not long after undertaking the attack, Lions of Islam walked into a prepared kill-zone set up by seasoned pro-government fighters belonging to a mostly Druze unit of the National Defence Forces. When the ambush was sprung by Syrian troops, the rebels found themselves snagged in crescendo of artillery and machine gun fire that suppressed their ability to move almost immediately. After very brief time under the fire of government forces, the murderous Moslems called off the raid and retreated back to rebel lines. Syrian government forces and armed rebel groups share a frontier that more or less runs along the provincial border of Daraa and As-Suwayda. This most recent engagement marks the first time in a while that festivities have occurred inside As-Suwayda. |
