Front) are readying to retake the fortress town of Dart Izza’ in western Aleppo province from rival rebel group Jahbat Tahrir Souriya.
The town had been a Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham for several years before Islamist infighting broke out during early 2018 since which the strategic town has fallen into hands of Jahbat Tahrir Souriya.
Amid wave after wave of counter-attacks over the last fortnight, Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham has inched its way back towards Dart Izza, most recently taking the nearby hilltop of Tal Hammash as part of an assault that absolutely devastated Jahbat Tahrir Souriya’s ranks and has now brought the al-Qaeda affiliate to within striking range of the town.
At the present time, Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham is shelling the positions of enemy forces of Evil around Dart Izza with artillery and heavy machine gun fire. An infantry push may come within the next several hours.
