[ALMASDARNEWS] US-led coalitions’ actions have caused "a disastrous humanitarian situation" in Syria’s Raqqa, Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian General Staff Sergei Rudskoy said at the press briefing in Moscow, Friday.
According to Rudskoy, Raqqa’s infrastructure "is almost completely destroyed and the residents do not have access to communal and social services in the capital’s province, where about 95 thousand people have returned to."
"Due to the non-functioning plumbing, there are serious problems with water supply. Often, it [water] is taken directly from the Euphrates, which increases the threat of the spread of infections and epidemics," he added.
Rudskoy said that the Arab population is subjected to repression and forced mobilisation because of the American coalition, causing "sharp dissatisfaction of local residents." |
