| Turkish jets bombard Kurdistan’s Bradost area |

| [Rudaw] ERBIL, Kurdistan Region ‐ Rudaw’s correspondent in the local area reported that at least three villages were targeted in the action. There are no immediate reports of casualties. The Bradost area is in northern Erbil province, near the borders with ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... and Iran. Earlier on Saturday, Turkey’s military claimed to have "neutralized" six PKK fighters during air operations against alleged PKK positions in the Khakurk area in Bradost. The military reported "neutralizing" 108 "terrorists" in the past week across Kurdish areas of southeastern Turkey and across the border into the Kurdistan Region, Anadolu Agency reported. Turkey’s military uses the term "neutralized" to refer to those killed, injured, or otherwise removed from the battlefield. The People’s Defence Force (HPG), the armed wing of the PKK, reported killing 12 The HPG’s press office said that "heavy fighting continues," in a statement carried by ANF news. They accuse Turkey of bombing "indiscriminately" and "targeting the civilian areas in the region, seeking to make the people migrate and depopulate the region." The PKK has its headquarters in the Kurdistan Region’s Qandil Mountains. |
