| Taliban leaders and militants suffer heavy casualties in Badakhshan |

| [Khaama (Afghanistan)] Several Taliban ...Arabic for students... local leaders and snuffies were killed during separate operatiosn and festivities in northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan. The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North said at least 14 snuffies were killed and 25 others sustained injuries during the operations in Mangal village in Tashkan district. The source further added that 15 snuffies were killed and 7 others were maimed during a separate operation in Kohistan ...a backwoods district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa distinguished by being even more rustic than is the norm among the local Pashtuns.... district. According to the Shaheen Corps, key Taliban group leaders identified as Abdul Bari, Mawlavi Ataullah, and Mawlavi Hedayatullah were among those killed. In the meantime, at least four snuffies were killed and two others including a commander of the group identified as Mullah Salam were maimed during a clash in Shuhada district, the Shaheen Corps added. |
