Two Iraqi soldiers wounded in landmine explosion, west of Anbar

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Two Iraqi soldiers were wounded in a blast caused by remnants of war against Islamic State members, west of Anbar, a security source said on Saturday.

“A landmine, from the remnants of war against Islamic State, went off as a military vehicle was passing by the Iraqi-Syrian borders in Dor al-Sikak region in Qaim town, west of Anbar. Two soldiers were wounded,” the source from Anbar Operations Command told BasNews.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source added, “security troops headed to the accident spot and started combing the region fearing further blasts.”

The western regions, especially Qaim, Rawa, Rutba and the border areas near Syria, “contain many landmines and war remnants that left many civilians and security personnel killed and injured,” the source added.

Two civilians wounded in bomb blast, west of Anbar: Police

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Two people were wounded as a bomb blast took place in west of Anbar, a police source from the province said on Friday.

“A bomb, placed on the side on the road that leads to Rawa city, west of Anbar, went off leaving two civilians wounded,” the source told Almaalomah website, saying they were transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The bomb, according to the source, “was from the remnants of war against Islamic State militant while they were in control of the city.”

Security troops “closed the entrances and exits of the blast and started combing the region fearing other blasts,” the source added.

Islamic State members disguised in shepherds clothes, west of Anbar: Source

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Security source from the pro-government paramilitary troops in Anbar province have indicated presence of Islamic State members disguised in shepherds clothes in the northern regions of Ramadi city.

Speaking to Almaalomah website, the source said, “information from the intelligence has revealed presence of some IS members, who move between Wadi al-Hadar region to Therthara lake and al-Dawajin region, north of Ramadi. They are disguised in clothes of shepherds.”

The militants, according to the source, “depend in gathering information about the security personnel on families of IS members who live there.”

The source also added that the militants “plan for terrorist operations against the security troops there.”
