Taliban judge urges the group’s supreme leader to accept peace offer |

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The shadow judge of the Taliban ...Arabic for students... group in northern Baghlan province of Afghanistan has reportedly urged the group’s supreme leader Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzada to accept the peace offer in a bid to end the ongoing violence. The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North said the Taliban shadow judge Mawlavi Abdul Hakim has made the plea in a letter published among the Taliban fighters in this province. The source further adds that a copy of the letter has also been obtained by the armed forces in which Mawlavi Hakim urges the fighters of the group to act as per the Islamic Sharia. He has also condemned the trial of the people in Kangaroo courts of the gunnies and has urged Mawlavi Akhundzada to accept the calls for peace, emphasizing that the people have became frustrated with the ongoing violence. In regards to the desert courts, Mawlavi Hakim has said no one should be tried in such courts without obtaining a directive from the leadership of the group. |
