Belgian military carried out secret missions in Syria
2018-05-26
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Belgian military conducted two secret missions in Syria in 2016, the VRT reported on Friday.
But don't tell nobody, okay? They're secret.
According to the VRT report, the Belgian military conducted two "very short reconnaissance missions, something like one day long."
Bet that expended their military budget for a year...
These military missions were reportedly carried out in the areas controlled by the predominately Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).
The only people in Syria they didn't expect to stab them in the back...
The missions were meant to create contacts with the YPG in Syria so that they could monitor potential Belgian Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) members operating inside the country.
The old ear tag game...
The VRT also reported that it was the former head of SGRS, Gen. Eddy Testlemans, who came up with the initiative, and that Steven Vandeput was not to be involved. Testlemans reportedly only obtained approval for the operation from the National Security Council, in encrypted form, after it was completed. This procedure allowed everyone to be covered politically.
That was the important thing, natch...
