| [ALMASDARNEWS] The UN is extremely concerned about the situation around the Port of Hodeida in western Yemen, the press secretary of the UN Secretary-General Stefan Dujarrik stated during a regular briefing for journalists. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews... forces. The Bab-el-Mandeb Strait is also close to the world’s most important shipping area. In recent days, the situation around the port has become tense. "We are extremely concerned about the situation around Hodeida. Our colleagues in this area have already begun to take precautionary measures in terms of curtailing aid and reviewing the contingency plan in case of further escalation of the situation," Dujarrik said. |
