Sector Commander Brigadier Naseem Pervez said that soldiers of Rangers’ 71 Wing foiled the suicide attack.

Later the bomb disposal officials cleared the site of the incident saying that the detonators were not properly connected to the explosives strapped to the suspect's body due to which it couldn't explode completely.
