Afghan Air Force target large Taliban gathering in Faryab leaving several dead |

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan Air Force carried out airstrikes on a large gathering of the Taliban insurgents in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan, inflicting heavy casualties on the group’s fighters. The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North said the airstrikes were carried out in the vicinity of Pashtun Kot district. Shaheen Corps further added that the airstrikes left at least 24 Taliban militants dead while at least 31 others sustained injuries. According to Shaheen Corps, the military commission chief of the Taliban group Makhdoom Alam is also among those wounded during the airstrikes. At least three vehicles, including two Fielder type SUVs and thirteen motorcycles were also destroyed during the airstrikes, Shaheen Corps added. |
