Blackpool terror alert: Illuminations patrolled by ARMED cops after ISIS threat

[Star] As this evening’s world famous event attracts thousands, armed cops will be on alert following warnings of a seafront terror attack.

Daily Star Online exclusively revealed Brit seasides are a prime targets for ISIS terror nuts looking to commit copycat attacks using vans to plough into crowds.

Last year as it was revealed ISIS terrorists were seeking to replicate the horror of London-based attacks in the UK's provincial towns ‐ targeting large open promenades in a bid to "maximise casualities".

Jihadis may be seeking to attack Brits walking on seafronts - with Blackpool at the top of the list.

Now, cops have told Daily Star Online armed officers will be patrolling tonight’s event.

Broadway tenor and Blackpool native Alfie Boe is set to flick the famous switch, starting 66 nights of Illuminations.

Thousands of people will pack the promenade as the lights get switched on, with many more watching the concert at Tower Headland.

Ella Eyre, Jonas Blue, Diversity and DVJ, Rae Morris, HRVY, and Club MTV DJs R3Wire and Varksi will perform at the biggest party in Blackpool’s calendar.

#4 Noone would notice in Blackpool if a bomb went off. It's the worst place in Britain.

Have not been there in 30+ years. Was lectured for my shoddy car parking along the promenade by a senior motorist. I probably deserved the scolding. Most everyone at BP was a senior back then.
