| Iraq: 3 Islamic State militants apprehended in Mosul Mosul (IraqiNews.com) – Three Islamic State militants were arrested Sunday in the group’s previously proclaimed capital Mosul, a security official was quoted as saying. “Nineveh policemen arrested three members of the terrorist Daesh (Islamic State) group in Mosul’s eastern side,” Iraqi news website Baghdad Today quoted Spokesman for the Interior Ministry Maj. Gen. Saad Maan as saying. “One of the arrestees was serving as a companion of the so-called security director of Daesh’s Dijlah State,” he added. Human remains of 18 women, children, killed by Islamic State, found in Mosul Mosul (IraqiNews.com) A mass grave, with human remains of women and children, was found, north of Mosul, the Nineveh Operations Command said on Sunday. Speaking to BasNews, Col. Zyad Iyad, of the command, said “security forces found human remains of 18 women and children, who were killed by Islamic State in north of Mosul.” The troops, according to Iyad, “handed over the bodies’ remains to forensic medicine department in Mosul in order to recognize their relatives.” |
