| Afghan forces repulse major Taliban assault in Faryab province |

| [Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) repulsed a major assault by the Talibs in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan. The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North in a statement said the Talibs launched a major offensive on Sherin Tagab district at around 9pm on Monday night. The statement further added that the snuffies faced a strong resistance from the national defense and security forces. According to 209th Shaheen Corps, at least 13 snuffies were killed and at least 19 others sustained injuries after the attack was repulsed by the security forces. A key commander of the group identified as Qari Zabi was among those killed, the 209th Shaheen Corps added in its statement. |
