Jim Acosta's White House Credentials Restored Temporarily After Friday Ruling
2018-11-16
That's fine for now; just never call on him again...
[Zero Hedge] - The battle over Jim Acosta's press pass has been temporarily won by CNN after a federal judge ordered the White House to immediately restore the journalist's access, following a Nov. 7 White House altercation which resulted in the revocation of Acosta's credentials.

Trump-appointed Judge Timothy J. Kelly acknowledged that the White House credentialing process has a First Amendment component, and that the government must give Acosta due process before revoking his press pass.
What's next - the judge defining what constitutes 'due process'? What bullshit.

#9  Me in the Press Pool.

"Thank you **** for selecting me for the next question. My question, however, is for Mr. Accoster...first sir, have you had your after lunch martini yet, because I would like a sober answer for a change. Why are you here?"

#8  Cancel all live press briefings. Just issue press statements and video. Let the rest of the Press turn on Acosta for causing it

He can bring his own mic next time.

#6  Just don't call on him. Don't SAY you're not going to call on him, because the Court would probably find that a violation of his rights. Just don't actually call on him - consider him an empty chair.

#4  Getting invited isn't a "right". It is a public and government place, but the only government duty that the press corps has is to issue statements.

Other than that there is no real "right" to being their live.

Cancel the live press conferences and just issue a press statement daily.

#3  Everyone should turn up and demand a "question"...

Everyone should have the same First amendment rights after all.

#2  There are way more reporters than just those goofs from the major news shows. Rather than permanent admission, let's have a daily lottery to see who gets inside for the press conference.

No it does not. Creating 'rights' where none exist. Another power grab.
