| The author has another way. [NationalReview] The first college class I ever sat through was a political-science seminar attended by a score of impossibly sophisticated undergraduates, each separately sure of the rectitude of his or her convictions. Some things never change! I was not enrolled. Rather, I had come to campus as a high-school senior simply to "get a sense of things" (I quote from memory a long-lost admissions brochure), to "drop in" and determine whether the university was worthy to receive me into its ranks the following year. |

| #3 End the student loan program. Starve them to death. Return state colleges to A&M [then practical agricultural and mechanical, today Application and Medical]. Let private higher education institutions meet the market place need for non-applicable degrees and semi-professional sports farm teams. |

| #2 Universities are leftist bastions because the extortion funding suits them. Make universities suffer from market pressure to actually show wage growth above interest rate of loan after graduation or funding ends and you'll see the left tidy up their act, as the one thing they're really good at is self interest. |
