According to opposition activists via social media, a senior field commander from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
, "Abu Fahd al-Miri", was killed by unknown assailants in the southern countryside of Idlib this evening.No group has grabbed credit for the liquidation.
The liquidation of al-Miri comes just days after another high ranking jihadist commander was killed by an unknown group inside rural Idlib.
Since the latest round of peace talks in Astana, there has been an increase in liquidations of jihadist leaders, prompting some opposition activists to accuse the Syrian government forces of carrying out these attacks.
The Syrian government has not commented on these allegations.
