| Lebanese Army deploys large force near Israeli border |

| [ALMASDARNEWS] A large number of reinforcements from the Lebanese Army poured into the Nabatieh Governorate of southern Leb this afternoon. According to a military source, the Lebanese Army deployed these reinforcements near the United Nations ...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense... ’ "blue line" in the town of Mays al-Jabal. The reinforcements were reportedly sent by the Lebanese Army in response to the large buildup of Israeli troops along the border of the Upper Galilee region. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) is currently digging at several border-towns near the United Nations’ blue line; they have increased their presence in the area over the least 72 hours. |

| #1 "US Committed to Supporting Lebanese Army", 19 October, 2018 Asharq Al-Awsat The United States confirmed its commitment to supporting the Lebanese army, describing it as "the sole defender of Lebanon". Director of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency Vayl Oxford met on Tuesday with the Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Joseph Aoun, to discuss both border and maritime security. In a statement, The US Embassy in Lebanon said: "In partnership with the both Lebanese Army and the United Kingdom, the United States is proud to outfit and train Lebanese border units with state-of-art surveillance capabilities with which to defend Lebanon." The statement reiterated the US government adherence to the Lebanese-American partnership and support to the Lebanese Armed Forces in their capacity as the sole defender of Lebanon. |
