Venezuela: Oficialismo calls march for January 23
2019-01-16
[ELUNIVERSAL] The first vice president of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, called the ruling party to a march for January 23, date in which the head of the Legislative, Juan Guaidó, had already called a mobilization before.

Cabello assured that the march will be carried out by the popular leaders who fought in 1958 for the overthrow of Marcos Pérez Jiménez's dictatorship.

He added that the mobilization will start from the East, the West and the La Bandera area, in Caracas, and will reach the El Silencio urbanization, since that day marks the 60th anniversary of the first speech of Commander Fidel Castro in Block 1 of the popular urbanization.

"On January 23 we go to the streets to remind the world that Venezuela is not betrayed again, we are going to tell those who sold this country that they will not continue to betray and manipulate this people," Cabello said. presser of the national leadership of the Government party in Caracas.

"We want to remember that the opposition calls for demonstrations on January 23 only when it wants to generate violence," he said, recalling the events of January 23, 2014 when right-wing leaders María Corina Machado and Leopoldo López called for "the exit" .

He indicated that the opposition sector lacks seriousness in its political action, which is why they resort to "media show" to position "negative matrices against the national government."

He questioned the false expectations generated to the opposing militancy on the scope of the call made by the President of the National Assembly (AN), Juan Guaidó, on January 23, where they would request the cease of functions of President Maduro's government.

"They say that January 23 is the day and we say that on that day we will go to the streets and (Nicolás) Maduro will remain President." On January 24, he will continue as President, we will see at the end who will comply, yes they or we and you you will see the opposition man who lied to him, "said Cabello.
