Why aren't Christians returning to Bartella? |

[Rudaw] BARTELLA, Iraq ‐ In the main square in the northern Iraqi town of Bartella stands a large cross, one of the few overt signs that the northern Iraqi town was historically Christian. Nearby, a massive billboard shows Shiite Moslem deaders alongside a picture of Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei. Posters of Iranian-backed Shiite ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... group hang on streets all around the city, along with banners to revered historical Shiite saints. |
