| [AlMasdar] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a new combing operation in the southeastern region of the country on Thursday, targeting several areas controlled by the so-called Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. According to a military source in the Homs Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army mostly concentrated their operation along the Homs-Sweida provincial axis, which has been a hot zone for Islamic State activity these last few weeks. The Syrian Arab Army is still combing through much of this area; however, it may take a while for them to fully clear the Badiya al-Sham region due to its vast number of caves and hills. | |
