| Mortar attack kills civilian, wounds five others in Diyala |

| Diyala (IraqiNews.com) ‐ An Iraqi civilian was killed and five others were maimed Wednesday in a mortar attack in the eastern province of Diyala, a provincial official was quoted as saying. Speaking to Iraqi website Baghdad Today, the head of Qarah Tabbah district in Diyala, Wasfi al-Tamimi, said that a mortar shell fell on a house in al-Qasab al-Qadimah village in northeastern the province early morning. "The mortar attack left a civilian dead and five others maimed," al-Tamimi added. It is unclear where the mortar shells were fired from, he noted. |
