Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel says Jussie Smollett got special treatment
2019-03-28
[PAGESIX] Jussie Smollett received preferential treatment from Windy City prosecutors because he’s "a person of influence," reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
Mayor Rahm Emanuel railed on Wednesday.

Emanuel continued his onslaught of criticism of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for their abrupt decision to dismiss the hoax hate crime case against the "Empire" star, dropping all 16 felony charges against him.

"This looks like because he’s an actor, a person of influence, he got treated differently than anybody else," the mayor said on ABC’s "Good Morning America."

Emanuel, however, stopped short of calling for an investigation into prosecutors for the sweetheart deal that he blasted as a "whitewash of justice" on Tuesday.

"You have the state’s attorney’s office saying he’s not exonerated, he actually did commit this hoax. He’s saying he’s innocent and his words are true ‐ they better get their stories straight," said Emanuel.

#8  As close as he is to Obama, methinks he doth protest too much.

#7  Foxx nullified the grand jury true bill. This woman could be in hot water. Most likely her career, like the prosecutor's career in Baltimore (The one who went after the cops in the Freddie Gray case to further her career) is in the dumper. The Chicago police must have really been ticked. They rushed to get out FOIA request info on the case to the media. I"d bet she would talk. Soros dumped $408,000 into her PAC.

He's probably just jealous that it wasn't him that was dealing favors.

#5  I don't believe for a minute that Mayor Rahm (or the Chicago Police Chief) is that PO'd. It's all perception theater as he's moving on to other things and will need the kabuki kredibility.

Rank & file officers are indeed pissed off though.

#3  ...cause you know the real victims were just the MAGA people he bore false witness against. Why would the Left care other than he failed to pull it off? If the skin color and accusations were reversed, we'd be hearing endless chants of 'racism!' from the Legacy Infotainment Enterprises.
