  • His provocation sparked violence in an immigrant-heavy Noerrebro district of Copenhagen

  • Counter-protesters threw cobblestones at him and at police who escorted him

  • Police said 23 were arrested last night after officers fired tear gas in clashes with protesters.

  • Paludan founded a small political party called Stram Kurs (Hard Line), which calls for Islam to be banned from Denmark.
