US Contractor steps up to the plate with Oposing Force (OPFOR) MIG 29

[AIR USA] Manufactured in Soviet Union by: Mikoyan-Gurevich.

The MIG-29 is a high speed, highly capable jet fighter interceptor and attack aircraft. It has been exported throughout the world as a swing role air superiority fighter for both offensive and defensive purposes. The MIG 29 is capable of speeds well in excess of Mach 2 with thrust to weight ratios comparable to any NATO fighter. The Air USA MIG 29 fleet was imported directly from a former Soviet Union nation. All aircraft are equipped with authentic former Soviet Union manufactured parts. Air USA MIG 29 aircraft are capable of performing any air to air mission providing excellent training and flight test opportunities.

#4  When the wall came down, we had a great opportunity to get real OPFOR equipment, spare parts, and qualified maintenance personnel for the NTC. Couldn't though because it would mean no contracts for American 'stand-ins'. As they write - where's the graft in that?

Hopefully some of those have been replaced with US copies. The Mig-29 was a hanger queen and Germany gave them up as quick as they could after reunification as they were too much of a pain in the ass to keep flying.
