| Houthi forces launch important offensive in southern Hodeidah |

| [ALMASDARNEWS] Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to Americaâ„¢, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews... forces launched an imperative offensive in the southern part of the Hodeidah Governorate, today, targeting the areas controlled by the UAE-backed Giants Brigade. Backed by heavy artillery, the Houthi forces stormed the defenses of the Giants Brigade in the northern part of the Hays District; this would result in a heavy battle that is still ongoing at this time. According to a field report from the Hays District, the Houthi forces are looking to expel the Giants Brigade from this area and force the remaining UAE-backed troops to leave the southern outskirts of Hodeidah city. This offensive by the Houthi forces is considered a violation of the U.N.-sponsored ceasefire, which is currently in effect across the entire Hodeidah Governorate. NO! Reeeeaaallly? This ceasefire was put in place by the United Nations ...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships... at the start of this year; it has remained in tact for the most part, despite repeated violations by all warring parties. |
