At the risk of being repetitious...
While the US and Russia are competitors, that doesn't mean we don't have common interests - in this case, getting Turkey out of NATO. Big propaganda victory for them, big pain-in-the-buttectomy for us.

The Russians have been "cooperating" with India for years on weapons programs. The Indians provide money and the Russians researched... and researched... and researched... The Indians bought some old Soviet ships that the Russians refitted... and refitted... and refitted... Do you see a pattern here?
