The military officials said Tuesday that the Afghan Special Forces killed 6 Taliban fighters and detained 2 others in Alingar district of Laghman.

The officials further added that two Arclight airstrikes were also carried out in Alingar district which killed 2 Taliban fighters.

The security forces also carried out airstrikes in Baghlan-e-Jadid district of Baghlan killing 1 Taliban fighter and wounding two others.

This comes as the security situation in some districts of Laghman and Baghlan provinces has tanked during the recent months.

Talibs are active in remote and restive areas of the two provinces and often conduct terrorist related activities.
