  • Four men with suspected ties to ISIS were arrested in Nicaragua on Tuesday

  • They crossed through an uninhabited passage known as La Guasimada located between Costa Rica and Nicaragua

  • The men were busted by Nicaraguan military soldiers following an alert distributed by the United States

  • U.S. officials feared the men would travel to Mexico and head to the border

  • Authorities apprehended Mohamed Ibrahim, 33, and Mahmoud Samy Eissa, 26, both Egyptian nationals

  • Also detained were Iraqis Ahmed Ghanim Mohamed Al Jubury, 41, and Mustafa Ali Mohamed Yaoob, 29

  • The group arrived in Panama on May 12 and entered Costa Rica on June 9

  • The men are being held at an immigration center in Costa Rica after they were turned over by Nicaragua on Tuesday and could face deportation
