#6  I think mozilla has completely joined the bog tech bandwagon. TOR's a good alternative.

#5  I'm rooting for DDG but the reality is that GOOG's algorithms have vastly more, and more varied, input variables with which to generate results.

G. knows what's in your Gmail.
G. knows where you live and where you work.
G. knows which real-world trips you've planned and places you've visited.
G. knows what's in your transaction receipts, travel bookings, political donations and meetings, medical appointments and bills, books you buy and concerts you watch and films and music you stream.
G. knows what's in the photos accompanying EVERYTHING you see on the web.
G. gets beacon data from apps on your phone that, whether you know or not, are recording your voice when they run in the background while you talk.

And even if all of the above behavioral events, touchpiunts abd related data are anonymize, G. can still correlate your behaviors and make good inferences about your next behaviors based on those correlations.

G.is a black box. It needs to be cracked open and broken up.

#4  Been using DDG almost exclusively for a year now. Some observations:

1. Google still knows everything I do.
2. Results on DDG are, for the most part, identical to those of Google.
3. DDG doesn't seem any more inclined to serve up 'conservative' results than does Google.

#3  Search for black violence on google and you see blacks fearing for their lives under white oppression in Cincinnati. On DDG, its completely different.

I call it censorial relativity.

#2  Go DuckDuckGo. Google is a partisan group that engages in left-wing politics.

#1  DDG works just fine and it isn't Google or Microsoft - what more do you need?
