In a press statement, al-Mishri said that the inaccuracies in Salame's briefing before the Security Council interpret as a green light for continuing bombing the civil and only airport that links the region with the outside world, putting the lives of thousands of passengers at risk.
In his briefing to the UNSC last week, Salame claimed that Mitiga Airport is being used for "military purposes", which has been taken as an excuse by warlord Khalifa Haftar

Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war.
