Alleged Drug Smugglers Arrested in Arizona Desert with 820 Pounds of Marijuana
2019-08-25
[BREITBART] Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a group of 11 migrants colonists who were allegedly smuggling 820 pounds of marijuana into the U.S. Officials report one of the illegal aliens is wanted by a court in Marion County, Oregon.

Agents patrolling near a mountainous canyon southeast of Arivaca, Arizona, received information Wednesday afternoon about a group of people wearing camouflage and carrying large backpacks. The agents called in a helicopter aircrew from U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations. The search led to the discovery of the group of 11 migrants colonists from Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico. Officials discovered 36 bundles of marijuana weighing about 820 pounds, according to information obtained from Tucson Sector Border Patrol officials.

The agents arrested the 11 illegal aliens who ranged in age from 15 to 38. They will be charged with drug smuggling and immigration violations.

During a biometric background investigation at the Border Patrol station, agents learned one of the Guatemalan migrants colonists has an active warrant from a court Marion County, Oregon. Marion County is a sanctuary jurisdiction that does not honor immigration detainers placed by ICE.

The warrant on the migrant is related to charges of burglary, domestic violence assault, and contempt of court, officials reported. Border Patrol agents notified the court and placed 25-year-old Mario Felipe-Perez into custody. He awaits extradition to Oregon authorities.

#9  They usually hike it in a good point of the way, I believe Border Patrol on the National Geographic channel did a piece on them. They are huge bundles, they have spotters along the way looking out for border patrol and such. I just wonder who smokes this Mexican shit anymore, since so much comes pout of the legal states and Canada that is alot better.

#6  Makes one wonder if they actually walked it - or had a vehicle or three to help them along. Anyone seen Eric Holder lately?

#5  75 pounds apiece, quite a load. After hiking through the burning desert

In August, in the Sonoran desert: wow. Wonder if there were some cartel vatos locos holding guns to their heads?

#4  If they were carrying it on their backs that'd be 75 pounds apiece, quite a load. After hiking through the burning desert with all that, they might have been happy to get busted.

Sounds as if it's a foreign country. Actually, come to think of it....

#2  It seems these illegals get out of jail easier for crossing the border than a misdemeanor charged citizen in a local jail. Get caught up owing child support and see how easy it is too get out.

#1  My salute to the Tucson Border Patrol guys. But why send that one guy to Oregon ? Won't that be just setting him free ? Couldn't they have sat on that info, let him serve time first for the smuggling, tried first to just deport him ? The police doesn't give them illegals so readily.

"Nooo !Don't deport me ! I... I'm also wanted in... Oregon ! I beat up my bitch there. Yes. Send me there !"
