EQUALITY: Australian University Lowers Standards For Women Looking To Enter Engineering Degrees
2019-09-01
[DailyWire] Equality? No thanks. Women at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) will be able to enter engineering and construction degrees with a lower score on an admissions test than their male counterparts.
Maybe we should do with STEM the same we do with athletics?
Way to tar all the women in the field as inherently inferior, guys.

#9  ...will just result in women who will be miserable their entire careers

That's assuming there are yet some who are not.

#8  I know a number of women who did just fine without any softening of standards, and quite a few men who were not meant for stem. And while I could have done at least the first half of the coursework, I would have been absolutely miserable in the profession, and no less miserable promoted into management to get me away from doing the work.

Softening the requirements and hand holding during training will just result in women who will be miserable their entire careers because they’ll have been shoved into situations that do not suit them. There are so many good career options for women who have some understanding of numbers and science — why not let them be happy and productive at their natural level instead?

#7  Next act, lower the design margin.

#6  Sadly, they'll also lower the standards for staying in the program.

#5  How do you lower the standards of math and science itself ? Round off Ï€ to 3 ?
g to 10 ?
e to 3.

How can you make things easier than they are for math ? Math was invented to make stuff easier to explain and work with.

You can just lower your expectations of students grasping the lessons, which is a lazy way of teaching. Maybe this is all for letting teachers earn their pay doing lesser work. And the teachers reciprocate by finding every opportunity to steer students toward political purposes.

#4  Amelia, how do you feel about the bridge you built? I feel real good about it; too bad it failed or whatever.

#3  Math be hard.

Buildings and Bridges fall down.

#2  The madness is spreading.

This is really terrifying.

We are truly f---ed if these identitarian fools destroy our basic science research insititutions.
