[ALMASDARNEWS] The Russian Air Force launched a large-scale attack on the Idlib Governorate today, targeting several sites in this jihadist-held region of northern Syria. Led by their military aircraft, the Russian Air Force carried out an important attack on the jihadist-held Taftanaz Airbase, which has been used by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State... According to a military source in the neighboring Latakia Governorate, the Russian Air Force carried out over ten ![]() KABOOM!... s on the Taftanaz Airbase and its surroundings; this resulted in the destruction of several krazed killer sites and a reinforcement convoy that was preparing to head to the front-lines with the Syrian Army. In addition to the strikes on the Taftanaz Airbase, the Russian Air Force also resumed their attack on the jihadist stronghold of Rakaya, which is believed to be home to one of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham’s main command centers in the southern region of Idlib. The Russian Air Force has recently stepped up their attacks across the northwestern region of Syria amid reports of a new offensive that is going to be launched by the Syrian Arab Army and their allies in the Idlib, Hama, and Latakia governorates.
