Around 100 Taliban militants killed, 88 arrested in Special Forces raids in Baghlan: Sources

[KhaamaPress] The Afghan Special Forces killed at least 100 Talibs and arrested 88 others during the operations in northern Baghlan province.

The military sources said Friday the Special Forces conducted the operations in Pul-e Khumri and Dahan-e Ghori districts of Baghlan province.

The sources further added that the Special Forces also destroyed a cache of weapons during the operations.

The Ministry of Defense on Thursday announced that the Afghan forces recaptured Dahan-e Ghori district from Talibs after almost three years.

According to a statement released by Ministry of Defense, the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces captured the district late on Wednesday night.

The statement further added that the security forces inflicted heavy casualties on Talibs during the operation to capture the district.

However,

Baghlan’s Dahna-e-Ghori Retaken By Security Troops: MoD

[ToloNews] Operations in Baghlan will continue, the MoD said.

Dahna-e-Ghori district of northern Baghlan province was cleared of insurgents on Wednesday night, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Thursday.

The clearing operation launched a week ago in Dand-e-Shahabuddin, Dand-e-Ghori and Kela Gai areas, the statement said.

“With the continued advance in Baghlan, the security forces have retaken control of Dahna-e-Ghori district, which was in control of the Taliban for more than three years,” the MoD reported.
