Mexico Deploys Forces to Northern State After Nine US Mormons Killed | |
2019-11-06 | |
[SPUTNIKNEWS] The Mexican security minister stated Tuesday that nine people, three women and six children, have been killed in an ambush on a Mormon family in Northern Mexico.
US President Donald Trump ...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US... has turned to Twitter amid the ongoing investigation to lambast those responsible for the crime and to propose US support for Mexico. Mitts sez "something must be done" Infanry, tanks, Archlight, whatever it takes. Commenting on Trump's proposal, Mexican President Lopez Obrador said that his country was ready to work with the FBI in the war against narco mobs. Earlier in the day, media said the Mexican authorities had deployed national police and military forces to the northern state of Sonora bordering the US following reports of at least seven US citizens, including children having been killed. The reports of the massacre emerged late on Monday as Lafe Langford Jr, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which has a major presence in the region, posted a statement on Facebook, saying that a mother and four of her children had been killed by narco mobs. According to Mr Lafe Langford Jr, Rhonita Miller and her 4 children were shot up and burned to death in a vehicle. Mr Lafe Langford Jr has been updating the information as the situation develops, saying that two other women who were previously missing - Christina Langford and Dawna Langford and their children have also been killed. #35 ^ #33 Exactly. Mexico's government is no longer sovereign. The Mexican state lacks the fundamental prerequisite of any functioning government-- a monopoly on violence-- and its timorous president has openly admitted that the state is going to abdicate its duty to maintain order against a violent, anarchic insurrection. Mexico is a failed state. Why on earth are we trying to fix Afghanistan's failed state when we are not honestly confronting the failed state on our own southern border? Does this make any f---ing sense? Anyone? Bueller? |

#34 I would say napalm the poppy fields in Mexico but we've had the past 18 years to do the same in Afghanistan. Tony Blair said we would but we never did. Can't understand why not unless there is some kind of corruption. |

#33 Declared or not, we already are at war with Mexico. AMLO surrendered to the cartels when he said war against them is not an option. He is no longer the legitimate president, he is a defeated former president. When the cartels smuggle fentanyl and methamphetamine into this country, it is an act of war and, since AMLO either cannot or will not do anything to stop it, he is irrelevant. |

#32 If they declare war on us, it means every Mexican illegal in this country can be legally shot as a spy. DO IT! |

#30 If the US accidently kills innocents while going after the cartels... Mexoco has a RIGHT to declare formal war against the US. Then we'll get to defeat them and annex another massive chunk of Mexico. We might even pay them a few hundred billion dollars or so for the land. |

#28 #11 The ammo looks to be 50 cal. Some of the ammo also looks like it goes with a belt-fed MG. Can anyone identify the weaponry against the wall? |

#27 We work with elements of Mexico against the cartel. We do not do things independently. Because. If the US accidently kills innocents while going after the cartels... Mexoco has a RIGHT to declare formal war against the US. |

#26 ... what is now a hostile narco-terror state Bingo. This is the essence of the problem. At a minimum, build that damned wall, and secure it with whatever's necessary. |

#25 I agree we don’t have a responsibility to go to war over those who make bad choices, g(r)omgoru. We could formally invite them to come home if they give up polygamy, though. Their refusal would clarify things nicely. Build the wall. |

#24 The point is, TW, USG should do nothing it wasn't already doing. Trump is not going to invade Mexico. Because there is no reason to do so. And lots of reasons not to do so - if only getting "Hispanic" votes away from Dems. |

#23 1. U.S. Citizenship. 2. Dual citizenship. Per the DOS. |

#22 Suppose a US citizen goes to Gaza and gets killed there by the locals. What should USG do? I don’t think that’s the right thought experiment, g(r)omgoru. Try this: Suppose Suzy Creamcheese marries a Palestinian-American lad, they have three children, then the whole family moves to Gaza City. Now suppose their eldest grandson, after graduating from good ol’ Gaza City High School (summa cum laude, of course — he got the Creamcheese brains), gets shot in the kneecap while hanging with his friends near that famous fence. What should the U.S. government do? Re: dual citizenship. When we lived abroad, I was told that if my children were born abroad, they would inherit my American citizenship. But unless they married an American born on American soil (including on an American military base) or their children were born on American soil, those grandchildren would not be American citizens. The birthright does not extend to one generation. So it would be very interesting to know whether or not these people are actually legally American citizens, or if they are more in the nature of Barack Obama’s African-Americanness. Sure he looks the part, but it is literally only skin deep. |

#21 Regardless of the victims' citizenship, it is obvious that Mexican police can't hack it so it would be appropriate for our government to give military assistance to the Mexican government except that AMLO has refused the offer. He says war is not an option which, IMHO, means he surrenders. That means we cut off all aid and diplomatic relations with what is now a hostile narco-terror state. Enforce a travel ban as well. Finally, SECURE THE DAMN BORDER to keep that shit from spilling over into our country. If we can identify friendly elements of the Mexican military or friendly militias, we could then offer them assistance. But Mexico is now in the control of narco-terrorists and should be treated accordingly. And I don't care about all the U.S. companies that have their products manufactured in Mexico and then bring them into this country. It is a security risk and needs to stop. Are we gonna wait for the gunmen to start shooting up this side of the border? As for Pierre, Pelosi, Schumer and a whole host of other Democrat luminaries, we know that cartel money has corrupted the Mexican government. The question is: How much of our own government has it corrupted? |

#20 Strategically though, such that any bastich thinks a hundred times before attacking any non-mexican looking person in that place. This. A punitive expedition, pour encourager les autres. |

#18 In my opinion, if you're eschewing your birthright to live in your land for as little as liberal allowances for your sex life, you made your bed. Literally. Too bad about the children. It should be avenged. Strategically though, such that any bastich thinks a hundred times before attacking any non-mexican looking person in that place. |

#17 B - Bing search sez: Does the United States allow dual citizenship? The United States does not outright support dual citizenship, but the law does not disallow it. Under United States law, U.S. citizens can hold additional citizenship with any country they qualify for without risk of losing their American citizenship or risk of having to denounce original citizenship upon naturalization as an U.S. citizen As far as the responsibility, that is a bit murky. My feelings (I know...) is that they gave up their invoking a US response when they got the dual citizenship and resided permanently in the other country |

#15 Sort of black & white. Correct me if I am wrong. The US Gov't does NOT recognize "duel cits." If you hold a Mex passport and have been living in Mexico for years, or decades, you're essentially a Mexican citizen. If we give a Mexican US Citizenship and a passport, and something terrible happens to them here in the U.S., it is OUR responsibility to get to the bottom of it....NOT Mexico's. Again, correct me if I am wrong. Admittedly, no less tragic. |

#14 Re #2, correct. As Sam Spade says: "When a man's partner is killed, he's supposed to do something about it. It doesn't make any difference what you thought of him. He was your partner and you're supposed to do something ..." |

#6 They're American citizens. They have been murdered in the most savage way by a rival government - the actual sovereign in most of Mexico. The head of the other Mexican government, which is barely in control and is terrified of the rival Marco-sovereign state, has told us to stay out. You don't do that to a real sovereign such as POTUS. The proper response is chinga su madre, we will do whatever we have to in order to punish this act of defiance and ensure that it never happens to another of our citizens in your shambolic chaotic mess of a country. |

#1 Those polygamy laws really suck! That's the ticket! We'll load up the kids, get Mexican passports, claim duel CIT status, learn the language, pull an extended Guyana 'Jim Jones-lite' and move to Chihuahua and Sonora. What could possibly go wrong ? |
