From his Wikipedia page: From 2009 to 2017, he served as a naval intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve, attaining the rank of lieutenant. In 2014, he was deployed to Afghanistan for seven months and was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal.[5] ... Buttigieg joined the U.S. Navy Reserve through the direct commission officer (DCO) program and was sworn in as an ensign in naval intelligence in September 2009.[47] In 2014, he took a seven-month leave during his mayoral term to deploy to Afghanistan.[48][49][50] While there, Buttigieg was part of a unit assigned to identify and disrupt terrorist finance networks. Part of this was done at Bagram Air Base, but he also worked as an armed driver for his commander on more than 100 trips into Kabul. Buttigieg has jokingly referred to this role as "military Uber", because he had to watch out for ambushes and explosive devices along the roads and ensure that the vehicle was guarded.[51] In order to better communicate with the local Afghans, he learned some Dari (a dialect of the Persian language). | #9 I've been an HP fan all of my life, until now. I had two HP printers before this third one - an HP LaserJet M401n. It sucks big hairy donkey balls, and it will be the last HP printer I'll ever buy, and once I'm done with it, I'd like to take it and drop it from the 32nd floor of a building so I can see it hit the ground at the same speed that Hans Gruber did. Yes, Suleimani's reign of interstate terror was "unwanted" by civilized people, and any normal civilized state would consider it "unnecessary" for doing what normal, civilized governments do, namely, promote life, peace and prosperity instead of ruin, mayhem and death.
