Senators will vote next week to acquit or convict Trump: What we know
2020-02-01
[USA Today] A busy week in Washington ended Friday night with a major decision in the Senate impeachment trial against President Donald Trump that takes the nation one major step closer to a conclusion.

Democrats allege Trump pursued a pressure campaign to get Ukraine to open investigations that would benefit him politically. He was also accused of withholding aid and a White House meeting from the ally nation in exchange for the investigations.

On Dec. 18, after a two-month inquiry in the Democratic-led House, the House approved two articles of impeachment against Trump ‐ abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Get caught up on where things stand and on what's ahead.

#9  Willard needs to resign. Manchin WV is probably an "Acquit" vote, Jones in Alabama might be a "present" vote.

#8  This is really screwing up Hillarie's plans. She was going to rig the DNC against Bernie, again, And then kill off Biden so the only viable candidate is herself. With Trump impeached, she could finally take her rightful place in the white house.... But, alas, Trump will not get impeached and removed from office. And her dreams will remain just that, dreams..

#7  OK, folks, we have a little pool going here. Put your stake down on which dem will vote present (the chickens**t alternative), and which one will vote for acquittal (the political Dr. Kevorkian alternative).

#6  The Dems said Trump acted to benefit himself. I say prove it.

Trump said he acted to benefit our country and in doing so, also benefitted Ukraine.

We all benefit from cleaning up corruption in both countries.

#4  Manchin, Jones and Sinema will be most likely to break ranks, since it means nothing and the are in tight races. If Pierre D goes the other way so much the better. Utah will politically PNG him...

#3  Knowing where Romney stands on this impeachment America really is better off that the Romney/Ryan ticket lost to Obama or America would have never elected Trump.

If Pierre was honest, he'd change is party affiliation. But he's not.

#2  I suspect there will be Democrat votes to acquit. Which is remarkable. They are usually quite good at requiring conformity.

Watching the panic in Demorats and the calm of Cocaine Mitch I think we all know which way the Senate is leaning.
