Lebanese pro-Iranian TV channel al-Mayadeen reported that the explosion targeted a convoy carrying military equipment to a base hosting U.S. forces south of the capital. The channel said there was damage to one vehicle but no casualties.
The reports say the earth-shattering kaboom targeted military vehicles in the area of Yusufiyah near the Iraqi capital, amid tensions between the US and Iran.
The blast, likely from an improvised bomb (IED), targeted a convoy of civilian vehicles that were carrying the American soldiers. |
