House Lawyers for Adam Schiff Assert Privilege over Schiff Subpoenas of Impeachment Phone Records
2020-03-20
[JUDICIALWATCH.ORG] Judicial Watch announced today that Representative Adam Schiff
...Showboating U.S. Representative for California's 28th congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Schiff has served in Congress since 2001. He currently serves as the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In a manner reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, on March 22, 2017, in a interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC Schiff claimed there was “more than circumstantial evidence now” that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia." Todd followed up by asking if he had seen direct evidence of collusion and Schiff responded that there was "evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation"...
(D-CA) and the U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence asked the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to dismiss the lawsuit against them for the controversial impeachment-related subpoenas for phone records, including those of Rudy Giuliani, President Trump’s lawyer. Schiff and the Committee are being represented by the Office of General Counsel for the House of Representatives.

The phone records led to the publication of the private phone records of Giuliani, Congressman Devon Nunes, journalist John Solomon, Trump attorney Jay Sekulow, attorney Victoria Toensing, and other American citizens.

#4  Schiff should able to hide behind his position or secrecy. He has to be scrutinized and answerable to someone. He is an elected official and should ultimately be answerable to the people through elections and/or through some legal process. He can't be immune to prosecution. No one is below the law or above the law.

#2  So, when Schiff "ignores subpoenas" under the FOIA that is fine and dandy, but when Trump does it ---Impeach! Impeach! Impeach! Funny how that works out isn't it?
