#8  Yes we did, through a Canadian company that wrote specialized software for controlling natural gas pipeline pumps and valves. The Russians stole the bogus software, installed it in their pipeline control system. At the appropriate time the altered software made the equipment malfunction and hyper pressurized the pipeline resulting in one of the largest non-nuclear explosions.

#7  NSA doesn't do direct action. The CIA used to do that effectively, but who knows anymore. Hanlon's Raxor applies. (Do not attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.)

#6  Once upon a time Herb. Under Clinton it took a very deep nose dive in quality and has yet to get back to cold war level of effectiveness.

#5  Isn't this the sort of thing the US intelligence community excels in? Didn't they do the same thing to the Soviets during the Cold War?

Of course it could always be inshallah maintenance, but who knows?

#1  A common event: ThursdayØŒ 14 March 2019 01:59 PM
At least four people were killed and five others injured on Thursday in a gas pipeline explosion in southwest Iran. "Gas leakage from a pipeline that linked the gas network from Mahshahr city to Ahvaz city, caused the blast," ISNA quoted local official Kiamars Hajizadeh as saying. Poor safety measures and Iran's aging infrastructures blamed by some authorities for blasts in the past.
