#16  Tijuana and Mexicali were overwhelmed. They already had sub-par med services and the numbers arriving last month were huge. There hasn't been much news in San Diego media lately, so it may have abated - but to what extent, I don't know

#15  Well, for one thing -- it's Mexico.

#14  I don't know what's going on in Mexico, but according to Johns Hopkins the case fatality rate in many Mexican cities is 15 - 20%.

#13  Whether or not we should have locked down in the first place is not an interesting question. Whether or not there is any justification to continue a lock down is very interesting indeed.

#12  Why should we listen to any of the conservative or libertarian Chicken Littles who went along with it, either?

Looking at you, Glenn Reynolds, who barely mentions his own contributions to these efforts nowadays.

The memory hole -- it's not just for lefties anymore!

#10  The world has passed six million cases and six percent have died. This is not like flu.

It’s fairly treatable, luckily, if we could just get politics out of it.

#9  This also is vanity.

#7  The lockdown does work at reducing the number of infections NOW, but it really only defers them until it is lifted or the germ gets through the cracks - unless safe and effective vaccines or treatments are developed and deployed before the lockdown is lifted. Or at least that’s how it looks to me - what do I have wrong?

#6  /\ The plight of the Jew might be a valid case in point.

'What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.'

#5  It sure hasn't. That's why history repeats itself, the stock market does what it does, etc., etc. Life/The world is cyclical, not linear.

#1  It was a failure and will be buried as quickly as possible.
