| #22 I wasn't jesting. People who have a responsibility to enforce order are selectively applying the power to do so upon those who have been designated "bad", and have been literally kneeling to those who have been designated "good". And the "good" ones have been doing way more damage than the "bad" ones. And the "bad" ones contribute way more to paying the salary and benefits of law enforcement than the "good" ones. This is in direct contradiction of their oath to enforce the law equally. Going by tw's comment, this unequal application of law enforcement is being done according to orders from their superiors. They could choose not to obey those orders. They could resign. They don't. Which is fine. It is after all, their choice. And I am free to point out what that reminds me of. |

That doesn’t speak to what’s in their hearts when they are off the clock or out patrolling, but rather shows that the senior officers are doing their best while being actively undermined by their political masters. Do remember that some Rantburgers are or have been police of one sort or another (not to mention just about every other job and category of humanity). Painting in absolutes risks bumping into that reality. and I will not tolerate flame wars when we need to support each other against the real evils that beat on our gates. |

| #16 Performance venue security and film/TV shoot security are provided, at least in part, by cops and ex-cops. It would make for fascinating drama if Seth Rogen was on the set with someone deeply unhappy with his stances if/when productions ramp up again. Not that anything will happen.
