The 203rd Thunder Corps in a statement said the Talibs attacked the security posts in Jalriz district of Wardak province.
The statement further added that the security forces effectively responded to the attack, killing one Taliban holy warrior and wounding two others.
The Talibs lost one of their key group members, Qari Zalmai alias Ansar, who was in charge of manufacturing roadside kabooms besides being one of the key members of the Red Unit of the group.
The Taliban group has not commented in this regard so far.
