attack in northern Jawzjan province on Tuesday night, a local official said on Wednesday.
The Taliban attacked two security checkpoints in Aqcha district, said Marouf Azar, a front man for the provincial governor.
"Five Taliban were also killed and 10 others were maimed in the festivities," he said, adding that "the Taliban have taken four security force members captive and also stole a humvee."
"Two other vehicles were destroyed in the attack," he added.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the attack.
