3 States Account for 42 Percent of All COVID-19 Deaths in America. Why?

[FEE] Noo Yawk, Joizy and Mahssholistan. The rest of us will have to pay for the evil and stupidity of the left.
And New York State is really only Downstate — the region that encompasses New York City and the surrounding communities. Upstate and Western New York pretty much look like the rest of the country.

#31  As are climate change types and central bankers (cashless society).

#30  The democrats didn't produce this virus (no brainer),but they are sure using it to try and gain a political advantage.

#27  See? Italics can mislead: "apparently" can also indicate in common "colloquial" f*cking English = "OBVIOUSLY"

I'm sure I read your "translationed" articles incorrectly at times...that why we all don't speak Esperanto. Nuance is lost

#26  It IS a major threat.

Do you really think that Germany, France, Italy and Spain, among others, shut down their economies for political gains?

For once, this is not a sinister plot of the Democrats.

And yes, masks help. Masks aren't a Democratic hoax either.
Posted by: European Conservative   2020-07-10 20:14

#25  No you grow up - learn that the source doesn't determine the validity of the proposition. Lock-down is a necessary thing. And so are masks.
Posted by: g(r)omgoru   2020-07-10 19:48

#24  It's apparently not a hoax, it's also being played as a major threat for political reasons. The two are NOT incompatible

Grow up

#23  in the newly so-called "Hot Zone" only because of Mexico

Now, if I were interested in scoring debating points, I'd say something like "This sounds as if you admit that quarantine rules imposed by the (D) Gov Newsom actually had some merit".

However, I'm not - I'm just tired of hearing "covid is a hoax imposed by democrats to destroy American economy and win election". In fact, given all the people outside USA who died of it, I find it aggravating.
Posted by: g(r)omgoru   2020-07-10 19:01

#22  As a matter of fact I know more than ten people who got it. Nobody has died fortunately but the sniffles it was not.

This shouldn't be a political issue of right vs left. The virus is real, and a true SOB. We still know very little about it but it's serious and will continue to do harm.

It's not even guaranteed that people who went through it develop a lasting immunity. And the virus seems to be able to attack many vital organs and leave permanent damage.

Don't take this lightly.

#21  and I, like several others here, live in San Diego County - in the newly so-called "Hot Zone" only because of Mexico

#20  ^Which makes it not real for you?
Posted by: g(r)omgoru   2020-07-10 18:31

#19  I don't live there, you don't live here. You hear agenda anecdotes via the media (not so different here, admittedly). Since the start of the Chinese Virus, I personally know of no one that died of it, much less comorbidity complications, even among my extended family's (anecdotal) knowledge

#18  Well I'm posting from Munich, as I always have. Why is this relevant?

#17  I absolutely still welcome and encourage your contributions, as I'm sure my comments in German or Israeli websites would?

Why don't you try and see for yourself.

#16  We take small comfort where we can find it. I note you both didn't post from an actual IP local to the US. Just saying: Your mileage may vary

I largely share your view
Posted by: European Conservative   2020-07-10 17:24

#13  Correct me if I'm wrong, but you aren't from the US, right?

That's why I see the forest, not just trees.

If so, then you aren't facing the same stakes that we are.

One of our prime ministers said "When USA has a cold, Israel has pneumonia."

+ As you probably noticed, I have a very different view of CV-19 significance than most here. In fact, I believe it's a bigger game changer than A bomb. So, the only country capable of stopping China - which unleashed biological weapons - playing silly bugger games, gets me mad!

p.s. Don't sell Trump short - he's a genius.
Posted by: g(r)omgoru   2020-07-10 16:08

#12  #11 It's political, like it or not.

The Dems are out to shut down the economy and hang everything on Trump; I have no qualms about doing the same to them -- particularly since doing so is justified by the record.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you aren't from the US, right?

If so, then you aren't facing the same stakes that we are.

#11  #10 (a) This is not a competition. (b) Even if it was, being better than NY, NJ, and Mass is hardly something to be proud of.
(c) Right now Texas has 125000 active cases. Given 5% percent mortality (for active cases) that works to 6250 deaths. And since infection rate increases, 6250 is just a start.
Now Florida is really f*cked because with current 200000 active cases and death rate of 11.5% it'll have 23000 deaths if no single additional person gets sick!.
Posted by: g(r)omgoru   2020-07-10 15:46

#10   ^They already did - look at worldometer

Check the per million cases and deaths, and you'll see Texas is still fairly low on the list and Fl is middle of the pack on deaths.

And that's with all the Noo Yawcka expats in Fl.
