| #8 I read a great sci-fi story once about aliens who arrived and discovered a rustic who made really good moonshine. They gave him a health makeover that ensured he would live for hundreds of years and genetically altered a couple of his pigs so they would crap gold nuggets. In return all he had to do was keep making moonshine for them and keep his mouth shut. And it actually worked out for all involved. |

| #7 They're here for the 'good stuff' that's already banned in their civilization(s). We're sort of a no-go zone, so the 'visitors' can operate as long as they don't create a situation that gets too much attention of their authorities. |

| #3 ....Would it be impolite of me to ask why - if a race is capable of traveling from their star to ours - they would have any REASON to land? Their tech would be sufficiently advanced that they could monitor every one of our electromagnetic emissions. They'd know as much about us as our own government does, and they'd certainly know how screwed up we are. Not saying they ain't out there, mind, but I'm not ready to believe that this is them. Mike |
