#4 The original purpose of the Special Forces was to organize and lead the resistance behind enemy lines. That's still their purpose but the emphasis on spec ops has led to them being thought of as some kind of super troopers like Rangers only better. They're good, but that's not their role. they're patterned after the OSS and Jedburgh teams of WW II. So, given their training, experience, and possible successes, they may have thought they could manipulate events and groups and so forth. |
